Forest Bus were very proud to be unveiling their new custom play vehicle at Thorney Hill Community centre in Bransgore Near Christchurch Dorset on 20th February 2009. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was a good turn out of people who all enjoyed the event very much.

The vehicle which has been unofficially named 'the play & show bus' was designed by local children and young people.

The Forest Bus charity will use their new vehicle to provide play and performance Workshops for young children in ‘needy areas’ around the New Forest. The custom play vehicle has a lot to offer onboard. There is a fold out stage which can be used for performances of singing and dancing. There are some very innovative play equipments onboard which will provide developmental play opportunities for young infants and children.

Mobile Play development and play therapy workshops, Mobile youth club, mobile creche, mobile Karaoke performance and recording with voice training and performance tips.

Darren Kenny is a gold medal winning, world record holding member of the GB Paralympics and David Mellor Cycles Teams. Darren is also a patron of forest bus and was there to unveil the new vehicle. Darren gave a talk about the aims of the new vehicle and about some of his own achievements whilst answering some questions from members of the local community.

After the unveiling of the new play vehicle, Jane Peacock charity manager (above) was there to give the low down on the success of the new play vehicle project and it’s future use.

Finally the eager audience were allowed to get on and have a look at what the ‘ Play & Show ‘ bus has onboard.

Karaoke with all the latest chart hits was available for the young people to enjoy. Keet B entertained everybody and encouraged the youngsters to join in with the fun. The fold out stage area of the new vehicle was used to host a Karaoke show for all to enjoy.
