Overall, Tynefield has been progressing well, with many young people and parents attending the session on the lorry every Monday. We often find the young people are there waiting for us to arrive and are always eager to know of new activities and plans.
On average 10 young people attend the session with 4 parents. | |
They enjoy interacting with staff as well as participating in all activities such as colouring activities, reading books and general early years toys and games. The bird food activity and fruit tasting was also very successful, with the young people developing the games themselves and participating and working well together.
We are currently in the process of working with parents in assisting them to organise a residents committee to ensure they are being supported as best as possible, and encouraging them to voice any issues, concerns or opinions.
We are also working with one parent in trying to further her education and employment prospects. We are working in partnership with her, ensuring both parties have their own responsibilities in researching possible employment.
