Go back to where you were previously...Calshot Youth Club

Session Day: ThursdaysLocation: St. Georges Hall, CalshotTimes: 18:00-20:00
Now featuring our 'Cook and Eat' Programme 2009.

Calshot youth has seen a shift with some young people moving from Calshot to Blackfield and younger children moving from the after school club onto the youth session.
Calshot youth club has become a really nice, calm friendly atmosphere with no real behavioural issues.
The young people seem comfortable talking to the workers which is good to see and makes our job worthwhile – young people enjoy the interaction with the workers who take time out to talk, listen to their views and join in activities.
We have been having some sessions with the music project at the hall, and this has proven to be very popular. The young people have really enjoyed karaoke, using decks, and music is always welcomed on this session - as is cooking and beauty therapy. The girls are now undertaking a beauty course at College and have gained a lot of confidence. We continue to support the young people with this by having regular beauty sessions to help them gain the skills they need.
We have been able to meet our aims which were to raise self esteem, improve young people’s confidence and to give them life skills; this has been achieved through being able to participate in decision making and planning.
