Richards' Story When I first became involved with Forest Bus I was about four years old. My earliest memory of the Forest Bus was when I took part in a charity fund raising event where I helped pull the Forest Bus to raise money for charity. I continued to attend the Milford on sea parent and toddler sessions, then various other play schemes, after school groups and then youth groups as the years went by and I grew up. In 2000 I was approached by Forest Bus and asked to help members of staff with the Youth Music Project and after working on this for a while, I was appointed as music leader Ben Goldstone’s apprentice. It was during this time that I realized how much Forest Bus had done for me and how rewarding it could be to work as a member of the Forest Bus team. I have been working as a freelance DJ for a few years now, as a result of developing my own interests and also because of what I have learnt in my role on the music project. In 2007 I applied for a job with the Forest Bus, and now I hope to continue sharing my experiences and enthusiasm with young people indefinitely. I am very grateful to the Forest Bus for helping me realize this, and for believing in me and enabling me to continue to develop my skills and forge a career in youth work. .
