The Lorry
Our flagship vehicle "the Lorry" is a converted 2002 DAF Lorry. It has a custom made extending "Pod" which allows the inside space to be greatly increased. The lorry has been refurbished in January 2011 and has modern facilities onboard. Hidden away beneath the lorry is a silent and efficient LPG Generator which provides the electricity for our workshops and sessions. The Lorry also has a land line "hook up" and charging system so that we can plug into the electricity at any venue we arrive at which has such a facility.
The lorry has a small kitchen with fridge, gas stoves, a sink with running hot and cold water, and plenty of storage space. The kitchen has clean drinking water available and full tea & coffee making facilities.
Activities On Board
The lorry has a specially fitted soft play area above the drivers cab for small groups of children to play in. We often put our fancy dress box and soft toys like teddy bears and cushions. Groups of 6-8 small children can safely fit in the soft play area at one time. The soft play is also suitable for older children as a separate area to sit and chat away from the rest of the activities taking place.
Below the soft play area there is a media center with a 32" flat screen LCD TV, XBOX 360, Playstation & Nintendo Wii. Forest Bus have chosen some educational type games as well as fun team building type games. We can play DVD videos and listen to music here also.
Downstairs in the main area we have provision for two large tables which can be used for informal meetings, workshops, arts & crafts & activities as well as for serving food to groups. The lorry is fitted with custom made folding seats and there is ample space throughout for any group of 8-15 children and adults to use.
Outside activities
The Forest Bus "Lorry" has a large awning which can be extended out during use providing a covered area with shelter from the sun or rain. We have a large range of outside activities such as giant connect 4, giant jenga, Viper Bikes, Circus equipment, Toys & Games, Arts & Crafts, power striders. We can also set up outside team games & sports - depending on the available space.
Our creative team can also provide a wide range of arts and craft resources, along with electronic and educational equipment which can be taken on board to meet the needs of different individuals and groups.
